In an effort to showcase the beauty of the South African landscape, and inspire international tourists to visit, Discover South Africa launched the Mzansi Experience on Google Maps. Allowing intrepid internet adventurers to virtually explore some of South Africa’s top natural attractions.
Google South Africa created 360-degree imagery of the country’s iconic locations, enabling cyber-visitors to go on a virtual tour and see the sights for themselves on their phones, tablets or computers.
South Africa is home to some of the top tourist destinations in the world, including eight Unesco World Heritage Sites and the Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s largest game reserves. South Africa also has eight official Unesco biosphere reserves (with another one in the process of being nominated!)
When visiting the Kruger National Park in Google Maps you can catch a glimpse of a rhinoceros grazing the plains, an elephant enjoying a grassy snack, and a herd of buffalo charging against the wind. You may even spot the elusive leopard!
