SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS OPENS NEW DOMESTIC LOUNGE AT OR TAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
VIA LOUNGE OPENING IN DOMESTIC DEPARTURE AREA OR OR TAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
South African Airways just announced the opening of the VIA Lounge in the domestic departure area of OR Tambo International Airport (JNB).
The lounge features ample and comfortable seating areas, fresh cuisine options, a rotating art gallery showcasing South African artists, a Junior Pilots children’s area, runway views and high-speed internet. Whether passengers need to work or want to relax before their next flight, the VIA lounge offers a relaxing and stylish option to enjoy.
The new domestic lounge is the perfect addition to SAA’s unique international arrivals lounge, ideal for passengers arriving from the UK who are connecting to a domestic flight. The international arrivals lounge offers customers the opportunity to freshen up and take a shower before making the short walk to the domestic terminal where, after clearing security, passengers can relax or catch up on work prior to their domestic connection.
In the VIA lounge (named because passengers travel via airports to new and exciting destinations) travellers will discover a sophisticated and welcoming space with subtle, earthy tones that complement the SAA colour palette and aircraft interiors. The plush seating fabric and texture create a link between the platinum and business lounge experience, while the visual language and local food expertly served by the VIA lounge crew celebrates the city of Johannesburg.
SAA business class, Voyager Lifetime Platinum, Platinum, Gold and Silver members, SAA Voyager/Nedbank Premium Credit Card, Star Alliance Gold members and Investec Private Bank Account card holders have access to the lounge.
Operating hours for the lounge are 4:30 to 21:00 (weekdays) and 5:00 to 21:00 (weekends). The national carrier for South Africa, South African Airways offers double daily flights to Johannesburg from London Heathrow’s newest Terminal 2, and onward connections through the largest route network within Southern Africa.
