HWANGE NATIONAL PARK
TRAVEL TO HWANGE NATIONAL PARK
Hwange National Park is one of Africa's finest havens for wildlife and is home to vast herds of elephant, buffalo, zebra and a large concentration of giraffe. Predators and a varied array of birdlife are also found in the Park.
Situated on the main road between Bulawayo and the world famous Victoria Falls, Hwange National Park covers 14 600 square kilometres.
The Park has an interesting variety of landscapes, with the western border running alongside the edge of the Kalahari Desert. The south is sandy with extensive forests and open grassland. Due to the lack of water, man-made waterholes have been introduced to sustain the animals through the long, dry season.
Walking, driving and horseback safaris are a popular way to experience the wildlife. Accommodation is provided at a number of safari lodges in and around the park.
